Getting your hands on the PrintAndScan App

The PrintAndScan App for iPhone comes together with the Asset Tools for Jira Jira Plugin. After installing the Asset Tools for Jira Plugin, navigate to the App Management on your Jira System. In your Jira App Management you will find a new category called Download PrintAndScan for IOS.

After clicking on the category, a .zip folder will be downloaded. This PrintAndScan.zip folder contains two IOS .ipa installers for iPhones/iPads or other IOS devices and some licenses for libraries used in the App.

Contents of the .zip folder:

PrintAndScan.ipa → IOS installer file

PrintAndScan_mobileiron.ipa → MobileIron wrapped IOS installer file

Which .ipa should I use?

.ipa fileDescription
PrintAndScan.ipaChoose this .ipa, if your Jira system is reachable in your WiFi Network.
PrintAndScan_mobileiron.ipa

Choose this .ipa, if your Jira system is only reachable in your WiFi Network if its tunneled into an internal(private) Network.

Note

For the mobileIron tunneling to work, mobileIron has to be configured on your iPhone/iPad by your IT-Administrators.

How can I install the .ipa on an iPhone/iPad?

There are multiple ways of getting the .ipa onto your iPhone/iPad.

For this documentation, we will use the Install On Air website.

Note

We (EDAG Production Solutions) are not associated with the owners of Install On Air. Install On Air is a third party website and we do not provide any warranty for privacy or other. If you use Install On Air, you use it at your own risk.

  1. Upload the choosen .ipa to Install On Air.
  2. Click the "Submit" button, after the .ipa is uploaded.
  3. Scan the displayed QR-Code with your IOS device. (iPhone/iPad/etc.)
  4. After opening the website from the QR-Code on your IOS device, tap on install on the website.
  5. Confirm the IOS prompt asking installation permission.

After following this steps, the PrintAndScan App should be avaliable on your home screen on your IOS device.

Note

Before opening the App, you need to add the EDAG GmbH & Co. KG to the trusted developers of your IOS device. For a detailed guide follow along with the next chapter.


Trust the EDAG GmbH & Co. KG as an Enterprise Developer

  1. Open the Settings App on your iPhone and navigate to the VPN & Device Management section. 

    Settings App → General → VPN & Device Management
  2. Under the category "Enterprise App" tap on EDAG GmbH & Co. KG.
  3. Tap on Trust EDAG GmbH & Co. KG.
  4. Confirm the prompt with Trust.

The EDAG GmbH & Co. KG is now a trusted Enterprise Developer on your IOS device. Your are now able to open the PrintAndScan App.
